Soundscape.  It’s an over-used word.  But it’s the only one that will do to describe this project involving the great guitarist Bill Frisell, drummer Matt Chamberlain and two producers – Lee Townsend and Tucker Martine (of Laura Veirs fame) – who register as active participants in the musical ensemble.  So What constitutes this particular soundscape?  A little bit of everything, provided it has a root-system, from modal Bitches Brewery to sub-riffing via ambient swamp slop.  Frisell fans will suck it up with enthusiasm; Laura Veirs fans could do worse than take a sip.
